Quebec-Windsor high-speed train would succeed: Study

QUEBEC — The long-talked-about fast train from Quebec to Windsor, Ont., has all the ingredients to succeed, according to the findings of a preliminary French study.
Led by Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume, a coalition of cities has awarded a contract to the French railroad society to study the economic, social and environmental benefits of a high-speed rail system for communities along the route. The first draft of the report, obtained by the newspaper La Presse, says the project would be viable.
