WINDSOR, Ont. — A record number of students have enrolled at St. Clair College this fall, says college president John Strasser.

The college will have an unsurpassed enrolment of 8, 343 students and has experienced an overall increase of 57 per cent since 2000.

"It's aggressive marketing and I believe the image of the college is changing across the province," Strasser said.

"We are putting in new programs that are more relevant and with the initiatives we're doing in terms of the Centre for Construction, Health Sciences, the MediaPlex downtown and Centre for the Arts, it's catching the attention of people and students want to come."

Strasser said more people are choosing college because it provides them with more employable skills.

"We're seeing more people coming from university back into college who have all or part of a university education and now have to take the college training that's specifically designed for the job," he said.
