Standing amid the flurry of construction activity at their new bar and lounge, Remo and Renaldo Agostino say they are bullish about downtown Windsor.
Despite the economic downtown, the 34-year-old twin brothers say the downtown is being transformed from vacant kiddie bars to an entertainment district with a variety of hospitality venues.
"There's a lot of things happening down here, man. The system's flushing itself out," said Remo Agostino, as he surveyed the construction to transform the former Avalon bar in the lower level of the Palace Cinemas building at 300 Ouellette Ave. into a lounge fittingly named Revival.
"The face of downtown is going to change," he said.
Both brothers expect their new venue for the over-25 crowd to open by the end of February and provide a second business pillar for their popular Boom Boom Room night club nearby at 315 Ouellette Ave. Five years old, it still fills up with crowds excited to see what live music the brothers have lined up.
"Either you stop, or you grow," Remo Agostino said.
The brothers will connect with the past at Revival. Furnishings include marble from the breakfast bar and counter of the former S.S. Kresge store located at what is now the RBC Royal Bank building, 245 Ouellette Ave...
