January 6, 2010
Lower prices fuelled a 69 per cent jump in home sales in November compared to a year ago, leading to an increase in year-to-date sales compared to 2008, according to figures released by the Windsor-Essex County Real Estate Board.
There were 348 sales in November for an average price of $153,548 compared to just 206 sales in November of last year, when the average selling price was a more robust $170,240.
The jump in sales in November has led to a slight increase of two per cent in year-to-date sales.

"I think we're beginning to see more positives than negatives and more months with increased sales figures than decreases," Imeson said. "I think some of the recent announcements regarding diversification in our economy will continue to spur consumer confidence.
