At 300,000 square feet, the University of Windsor's new engineering building will be a goliath campus landmark built by local labour.
The contract for the $112-million Centre for Engineering Innovation has gone to local company PCR Contractors. The company's resume includes building the WFCU Centre, which opened in late 2008.
The multi-storey engineering building, designed by Toronto-based B+H Architects, will be built at the southeast corner of Wyandotte and California streets.
The construction will create about 1,600 jobs and inject $270 million into the economy...
