City buoyed by $1.8M for rental units

The City of Windsor is celebrating after receiving $1.8 million for 15 new affordable rental units.

The funding for the 15 units came from the Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program and will be occupied by persons with disabilities.

In attendance at the ceremony was Essex member of Parliament, Jeff Watson and member of provincial parliament and minister of economic development and trade, Sandra Pupatello.

Watson said the development will be very important not only to people with disabilities, but the community as well.
